Account & Subscription

From signing in and moving to a new device to updating your subscription, check your account first, then review the client settings.

Do I need an email address to create an account?

No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password. Keep your login details safe, and use a unique password for YanVPN rather than reusing one from another site. Once you open the user dashboard, check that you’re signed in to the right account before viewing plans or client downloads. Since an email address isn’t required, don’t assume email recovery is available. If you can’t access your account, contact support through the site. Before sharing a screenshot, hide your password, subscription link, and sensitive payment details. Account notices that help diagnose the issue can remain visible.

Do I need to choose a new plan when I switch devices?

There’s no limit on the number of devices that can be online at once, so switching devices alone doesn’t mean you need a different plan. Sign in to the same YanVPN account on your new device, open the client downloads page from the user dashboard, then get and import your subscription. Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux are all supported platforms. After importing, check the route list and account status. A configuration file saved locally on an old device shouldn’t be treated as a universal installer. Unlimited devices doesn’t mean unlimited data: monthly plans still have the data allowance shown for the selected plan. Check your account’s overall usage when troubleshooting.

How do I update my subscription, and why hasn’t the route list changed?

In your client’s subscription or configuration settings, find the current YanVPN profile and update the subscription. Check for a success message, then return to the route list and make sure you’re using the updated profile rather than an older profile with the same name. If the link is invalid, sign in to the user dashboard to get the current subscription link and replace the address saved in the client. Don’t edit its parameters yourself. If the update fails, check whether your local network can reach the subscription endpoint. Your subscription link is sensitive account information. When contacting support, share the error message only—never the full link.

Should I choose a monthly plan or a data package?

If your usage is fairly consistent, choose a monthly plan to suit your everyday needs. If you use the service irregularly, compare the data packages. Monthly plan data resets each month on the day your plan began. Data packages last until used and never expire. The difference is how data is consumed, not how many devices you can connect. Think about your typical use—such as document collaboration, AI tools, or streaming—and compare it with the allowances and prices on the plans page. Data packages don’t refill monthly, and unused monthly plan data isn’t carried over indefinitely. Your dashboard shows the current status of your account.

Connection & Troubleshooting

Tell apart local network, client routing, and destination service issues. The original error message is more useful than simply saying “it won’t open.”

The client says it’s connected, but webpages still won’t load. What should I do?

A connected status usually means the client has established a connection; it doesn’t guarantee that a particular website is reachable. Disconnect the client and check whether your local network can open websites that normally work. Reconnect, then test more than one destination. If only one site fails, check its service status, your account region, and any browser message. If several sites fail, check that your subscription is up to date, your plan is active, and system proxy or tunnel mode is enabled. Change one setting at a time and note the result so you can identify the cause instead of changing routes and modes together.

Why does my browser work, but a particular app doesn’t use the proxy?

Your browser and apps may use different network paths. Some apps don’t follow the system proxy, or the client’s routing rules may send them directly. First, check whether the client is in rule mode. See which rule matches the app or its domain, then check that the selected route works with that service. If the client offers tunnel mode, follow the guide for your platform to check its permissions and settings. After making a change, fully close and reopen the app to establish a new connection. Don’t route all traffic through the same path indefinitely as a substitute for troubleshooting; this could disrupt local services that already work.

How can I troubleshoot timeouts, certificate warnings, or DNS failures?

Keep the full error message and use it to identify the issue. For connection timeouts, check your local network and current route. For DNS failures, check whether the client is handling the relevant traffic and whether the system and client DNS settings conflict. For certificate warnings, verify your device’s date, system time, and the domain you’re visiting. Never ignore a certificate warning and enter your account password. If switching networks fixes the issue, it may be related to the original network environment. If you still can’t identify the cause, submit a support ticket with your platform, the client’s message, the affected service, and the steps you’ve already tried.

Where can I get the client and subscription? Is iOS different?

Client downloads and subscription links are available from the user dashboard. Sign in, open the client downloads page, and choose your device platform. Instructions are available for Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. On platforms other than iOS, you can download the client after signing in; you don’t need to have purchased a plan. For iOS, the dashboard shows the download option based on whether your plan is active—follow the on-page instructions. Downloading the client and getting access to the network service are separate steps, so check your subscription and plan status after installation. Use the links in the dashboard and avoid importing configuration files from unknown sources.

Speed & Routes

Choose a region for your needs, then compare routes. Check website access, account eligibility, and content availability separately.

If things slow down during peak hours, should I change routes or networks first?

First, work out whether the slowdown is on your local network or the international connection. Pause large file transfers, check whether familiar websites are also slow on your local network, then compare the same destination over different routes. If only the current route is affected, try another route suited to the destination region. If everything is slow, check your Wi-Fi signal, router, and local network first. Peak-hour performance depends on the entry point, transit, exit point, and destination service. Choosing a geographically closer region isn’t always the best option. Note when the issue occurs and compare results; this is more useful than switching routes repeatedly.

Which regions do the routes cover, and how should I choose one?

YanVPN covers 100+ countries / 210+ routes. First check which regions the destination service supports, then compare available routes against your current network conditions. Distance alone shouldn’t be your deciding factor. For everyday work, look for a stable connection and smooth file transfers. For AI tools, check both your account region and the service’s supported regions. For streaming, check the content library available in each region. A region in a route name indicates the selected exit location; platforms may identify it differently. Test routes with your usual tasks and keep the ones that suit them. See the routes page for the full list.

What’s the difference between IEPL, transit, and direct routes?

These terms describe how routes are set up; they aren’t a universal speed ranking for every network. A direct route usually takes a more straightforward path, but performance still depends on your local network and international routing. A transit route forwards traffic through an intermediate connection. An IEPL route uses a dedicated line for the relevant part of the connection. Compare route types alongside your destination region, current network, and intended use. A route’s name doesn’t guarantee it will be faster, and a single successful page load doesn’t indicate long-term performance. If you run into problems, compare how different routes perform on the same network and note the results.

A streaming service or AI tool opens, but says it isn’t available in my region. What can I do?

Being able to open a website doesn’t mean your account can use every feature. The platform may consider your exit region, account details, payment region, and session history. Check the regions the platform officially supports, then confirm that your current exit location suits your needs and that the relevant traffic is using the selected route. After switching, sign out of the old session and test again. Refreshing the page alone doesn’t confirm that your exit location has changed. Streaming catalogs and AI feature availability are determined by the platform; a network service can’t change your account eligibility. If the error persists, keep the original message and follow the relevant topic guide to troubleshoot further.

Billing & Refunds

Check prices, data rules, and order status. For payment or refund questions, keep your order details and add updates to the same support ticket.

How much do monthly plans cost, and when does data reset?

Monthly plans are ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the day your plan began. There’s no limit on the number of devices that can be online at once. Before choosing, check which data allowance goes with each price. Confirm your plan status and reset date in the user dashboard; don’t assume data resets at the start of the calendar month. The data allowance is the amount you can use, not a measure of connection speed. If your recorded usage is higher or lower than expected, check other connected devices, background syncing, and file transfers before deciding whether to change plans.

How much do data packages cost, and do they expire?

Data packages cost ¥158 for 300GB, ¥358 for 1000GB, and ¥658 for 3000GB. They last until used and never expire. Unlike monthly plans, which reset each month on the day they began, data packages suit usage that varies over time. Check the billing terms before comparing packages. A larger data allowance doesn’t imply an additional discount, and packages don’t refill each month. If your account already has another plan, review the order details and current status in the dashboard before making changes. If you’re unsure how plans can be combined or switched, confirm through a support ticket before proceeding.

What happens to the price difference if I upgrade my plan mid-cycle?

When you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is converted into remaining days. Sign in to the user dashboard and review your current plan and the plan you’re considering. Follow the result shown on the order confirmation page; don’t assume the difference means extra data or a fixed extension. Before confirming, check the plan tier, billing method, and account status, especially whether you’re comparing a monthly plan with a data package. If the preview doesn’t match your expectations, stop before making another payment and ask support to confirm using the order page details and your current plan. Don’t create the same order repeatedly to try to change the conversion result.

Which payment methods are supported, and what if my status doesn’t update after payment?

YanVPN supports Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. Choose a payment method from the order page in your user dashboard, then return to the order page to check the status. If the payment service shows the payment as complete but your dashboard hasn’t updated, first confirm that the payment record matches the current account and order, then refresh the order status. Don’t pay again just because the order hasn’t updated yet. If you need support to check the payment, provide the order ID, payment method, and message shown on the page. Hide account details that aren’t needed from screenshots. For USDT payments, carefully verify the network and payment details shown on the order page. Don’t reuse payment details saved from an old order.

How do I request a refund, and what information should I provide?

YanVPN offers 7-day no-questions-asked refunds. To request one, sign in to the user dashboard, open a support ticket to let us know, and provide the order ID. See the Terms of Service for full eligibility details. If you’re also having connection problems, include your device platform and the error message so support can distinguish technical troubleshooting from your refund request. You don’t need to write a lengthy troubleshooting report just to request a refund. Keep your order record and add any follow-up information to the same ticket to keep the context together. Don’t send your password or full subscription link in a ticket. Check the ticket for updates.
